Kathleen and Chris had the most beautiful Fall wedding at Tuckahoe Plantation in Richmond, Virginia. Tuckahoe Planation is considered a National Historic Landmark because it was the childhood home of Thomas Jefferson. It is an incredibly beautiful piece of property located between Goochland and Henrico country. The property is absolutely gorgeous and was the perfect setting for Kathleen and Chris's wedding.
Kathleen and her 10 bridesmaids started off the morning by having champagne on the back porch that overlooks the river. They then headed upstairs to prepare for the big day inside of the historic home. Kathleen's mother and bridesmaids helped her into her stunning Alyne bridal gown and accessorize with her something old, something borrowed, and something blue. The bridesmaids dressed in soft gray dresses that were complimented by their fresh lavender bouquets. I absolutely loved the flowers Kathleen chose for her wedding. So simple yet, they were the perfect addition.
Chris and his groomsmen got ready in a small house on the far side of the property. It was the perfect room for guys to get ready in. The dark natural wood and trophies on the walls made it a definite "man cave." Chris and his groomsmen really got into their group photos. At one point Chris even mimicked his favorite Ravens player.
The ceremony was filled with readings from close friends and family. Chris and Kathleen could not stop smiling. After the wedding, they completed the Southern wedding tradition of burying the bourbon bottle. Chris got a shovel and dug up the bottle they had buried together a few days before. He even took a few gulps before heading into the reception.
Their reception was one of the most fun that we have ever photographed. The band they chose, The Dickens, did a phenomenal job. They had everyone at the reception up on their feet and dancing. It really felt like we were at concert. Towards the end of the night Kathleen and Chris even jumped on stage and sang a song together.
From start to finish Kathleen and Chris's wedding was one for the books. Everyone seemed to have an amazing time. Best wishes to the happy couple!
