Meet The Lemon's

This was an extra special wedding for us. It was the first time we have ever photographed a wedding for a family member...and not just any family member. This is David's sister's wedding. Kristin + Jesse got married at The Boathouse at Sunday Park on April 25th, 2015.

There is just so much to say I'm not even sure where to start! It was a pretty crazy experience photographing a wedding for someone so close to you. We had been by Kristin's side throughout the entire wedding process, so we knew exactly what she had planned for their wedding day. We knew what had been stressing her out, what she was most excited for, and how she planned for everything to go. Photographing anyones wedding is a great deal of pressue. You want to document their day in the best way possible and ensure they have memories and photos to last a lifetime...but I have to say photographing a family member's wedding is even more pressure. Everyone in attendance was a part of our family, so we really wanted to make sure we took photos that everyone would appreciate and love.

I was so surpised by how calm Kristin was on her wedding day. She had stopped stressing over all the little details and was just ready to enjoy her day and marry Jesse. It poured the entire day...like the rain never stopped once...but that didn't seem to bother them at all. The Boathouse at Sunday Park made swift moves and relocated their ceremony under a tent on the deck. They still had a killer view of the water, and the ceremony was beautiful.

After the ceremony we took family portraits, which was super interesting because everyone in the photos was a part of our family. David and I organize and shoot family portraits at every wedding we photograph, but photographing our own family was a whole new experience. David and I even had to be in some of the photos, so we'd hand our cameras off to a trusted family member to try and get the shot. All in all everything turned out beautifully. We worked through the rain and were able to capture some beautiful family and wedding portraits for Kristin + Jesse.

Their reception was very intimate with some delicious Boathouse food and lots of drinks. Everyone had a wonderful time, and Kristin + Jesse were glowing. Now it's time to meet Mr. + Mrs. Lemon!
