Oh film! I have been shooting film since I have 15. I majored in photography in college and all the work I produced was exclusively in film. Once we started taking photos professionally though, I switched to digital.
I love the consistency of digital and the ability to quickly adjust to new situations - and the fact that I can tell right away if someone's eyes are closed in a photo (it happens way more than you'd like!). For fast paced work like weddings - digital is just so much more reliable. But there is just something about the raw, unpredictable, grittiness of film that I love so much.
Last year we had a few client's request some film photos, so we got back into it. While we were taking our boudoir contest winner - Courtney's - boudoir photos, we had a few rolls laying around and decided to mix in some film shots too. These are so different from the digital images from her session, and it was so fun to change things up a little bit!
Life Update! It has been an amazing 10 years of photographing portraits of all kinds in RVA! It was an amazing chapter in our lives, and we are ready to move on to the next. We will be shifting our business to solely focus on our commercial and editorial photography work, and unfortunately that means we will no longer be accepting bookings for our other photography services. Thank you for being on this journey with us and trusting us to document so many meaningful moments. You can check out our new work by heading to jadaanddavid.com or following us on instagram @jadaanddavid.
