Some of you probably know that David and I have a Golden Retriever named Nala Bear Parrish who we are pretty much completely obsessed with. She is my baby. I love her to pieces, and there is no way we could ever have photos taken without including her. She is a part of our family.

I know I'm not the only one that is this obsessed with their dog! Including your dog in your engagement photos is such a great idea. Dogs are ridiculously cute, and they do some pretty hilarious things. You will be smiling throughout your entire shoot, and it will make for some really great candid moments.

Here are a few simple tips for including your dog in your engagement shoot!

1. Choose a Dog Friendly Location

Make sure you choose a location where dogs are welcome. It's best to choose an outdoor location with lots of wide open space. Parks, trails, and fields are always great choices.

2. Bring Treats & Toys

Dogs tend to have pretty short attention spans, so make sure you bring some of their favorite toys and treats. Squeaky toys and really tasty treats seem to do best.

3. Have an Extra Person There

As much as couples love their fur babies, they usually like to have a few photos with just the two of them. Make sure another person comes along to care for the pup so your photographer can focus on taking the photos.
