Unique Wedding Venues in Charlottesville

I'm a UVA girl, so Charlottesville will always have a special place in my heart. I lived there for 4 years, and I think it is hands down one of the most beautiful places in the United States. It is also home to some truly spectacular wedding venues. It's quickly become a high-end destination wedding location because of the lush greenery and mountain views in every direction. There are so many great venues that narrowing down your search can be overwhelming. Here are a few of my favorites!

 

1. Belle Haven

Belle Haven is a stunning historic home situated on a gorgeous piece of property overlooking the James River located just outside of Charlottesville. It features a lush green garden, an adorable carriage house, open fields, a wildflower labyrnith, and charming red barn. There are so many unique touches and gorgeous scenery. It's the perfect venue for a bride looking to do something a little different with her wedding. You will be able to get creative and use Belle Haven to create your dream wedding. The only thing to note is that they do require you to hire a full service wedding planner -- you have to have one in order to sign the contract.

 

2. Mount Ida Farm

Talk about southern charm! This venue screams classic Virginia wedding. It is a private farm just south of Charlottesville. There is a beautiful historic home where you can get dressed on your wedding day. There is so much natural beauty here in every direction -- such a photographic location -- There is a large barn perfect for hosting your reception that can hold up to 300 guests as well as a stunning ceremony site overlooking the water. A fall wedding here would really take your breath away.

 

3. Blenheim Vineyard

Yes, this is Dave Matthew's vineyard and YES it would be a fabulous backdrop for your wedding day. You can say "I do" overlooking the vineyard at sunset and have a tented reception under the stars. There is also a tiny chapel onsite, which would be perfect for an intimate ceremony. Your guests will be able to drink Blenheim's fabulous wines, and I guarantee they will thoroughly enjoy themselves. There are so many stunning spots for photos. This is the perfect venue for a couple who loves music, wine, nature, and wants to have a blast on their wedding day.

 

4. The Barn at Trump Winery

Trump Winery features a grand hall, pavilion, barn, and chapel. The barn includes a gorgeous bridal suite with full length mirrors and luxorious accommodations for you and yours bridesmaids to enjoy. The barn overlooks Olympic lake with views of the vineyard and the spectacular Virginia tree line. It's the perfect spot for an outdoor ceremony with just a touch of rustic southern charm. If you are having a more intimate ceremony of 80 guests of less, you will have the option to get married in their adorable onsite chapel. This venue has so much to offer and there are so many different directions you can go with it. Just about any bride would fall in love with all the possibilities Trump Winery has to offer.

 

5. Keswick Vineyard

Keswick Vineyard will take your breath away. There is an on-site bridal suite as well as a location for your groom and his groomsmen to get ready. There are vineyards in every direction, a stunning estate home, a grand pool, and a tented reception area admist an open field. There is plenty of space and can accommodate weddings of all sizes. Keswick Vineyard encompasses every aspect of southern elegance.

 

6. Lydia Mountain Lodge + Log Cabins

Whether you want to be married indoors or outdoors, Lydia Mountain has it all. It overlooks the spectacular Blue Ridge Mountains and has scenic views in every direction. Your guests will be blown away. My favorite part about this venue are the quaint little cabins onsite. If you are a couple who loves nature, Lydia Mountain is the perfect spot for your mountain wedding.

 

7. The Market at Grelen

If you have ever dreamed about getting married in a berry field, this is the venue for you. It is so perfect for a summer wedding. Your ceremony can be held admist their lush green berry patches with views of The Blue Ridge Mountains surrounding you on all sides. Your reception can take place inside their gorgeous greenhouse filled with succulents and lush flowers. It's such a romantic venue and perfect if you are trying to do something a little out of the ordinary.

 

8. Veritas Vineyard

Veritas Vineyard can accomodate weddings of all sizes. Whether you want to have an intimate affair in their Mezzanine or a large outdoor tented reception, Veritas Vineyard is the venue of for you. There are large open fields, lush grennery, mountain views, and vineyards. This venue has so many options for you to create the wedding of your dreams. It will be a spectacular backdrop for your wedding photos.

 

9. Pippin Hill Farm

This is one of my very favorite venues. It's hard to imagine this much beauty in one spot. Not only are the views breathtakingly gorgeous in every direction, but their accomodations are top-knotch. Their lawn is the perfect location for your ceremony with panoramic mountain views. Your guests can enjoy cocktail hour on their outdoor terrace before you and your groom make your grand entrance into the reception. Receptions are held in the granary, which can hold up to 250 guests. It's a spectacular venue that any bride would fall in love with.

 

10. King Family Vineyard

King Family Vineyard is a perfect location for any kind of wedding at any time of year. They have versatile indoor and outdoor ceremony and reception options. Guests will enjoy sipping their delicious wines all through the night. The views are gorgeous and the accomodations are to die for. Who wouldn't want to get married here?!
