It all rests on the fit

Whether you opt for a designer suit or rent a tux, the fit will dictate the entire look. Your suit should be easy to move in and flattering to your body type.

• The bottom hem of your jacket should conceal your butt and the vent shouldn't tug open. It means that it is too tight if it does.
• Your collar should rest flat against the back of your neck and on the sides without any crinkles or bulges.
• Your bowtie should fit securely around the collar.
• The jacket sleeve hem should rest at the wrist bone with about one-fourth to one-half inch of the shirt cuff showing below.
• When standing and sitting, your pants should feel comfy and rest just above the top of your shoes.

Coordinate with Your Groomsmen

Most of the time, grooms wear the exact same suit or something similar to their groomsmen. Regardless of if everyone is wearing matching suits or not, it is key that their suits are the same style. In order to differentiate the groom from the line up of groomsmen, sometimes adding a fun detail, such as a different color bow tie, special boutonniere, meaningful cufflinks, or vest can help make the groom stand out from the group without compromising the wedding party's overall aesthetic.

Dress for the Formality of the Day

Take your venue and the general vibe of the wedding into consideration when selecting your attire. For outdoor and daytime weddings in particular, consider opting for a more casual look, such as light-colored suits. However, if your wedding is taking place during the evening in a more formal venue, a well-tailored suit or tux is a must.
