Early one spooky October evening, just as the moon began to rise from behind the red tobacco warehouses, a strange sound was heard in the distance. Could this be the return of the spooky clown that had haunted Shockoe Bottom many years ago?
A ghost buster, cactus, unicorn, and pumpkin were eating spaghetti and meatballs in their photography studio when they heard a crash come from outside. The ghost buster, being the bravest of them all, slowly got up from where she was sitting. When she peeked her nose out the door, she could not believe what she saw! This pale-faced, black-eyed clown was looking down at the smashed tray before she shot her eyes up at the ghost buster and smiled a nefarious grin. The ghost buster's little heart was beating so fast as she quickly closed the door with a fright.
The kind little pumpkin said, "Maybe the clown didn't mean to scare you. Maybe the clown was just looking for friends."
The cactus said this was poppycock and decided to investigate. He peeked through the mail slot and saw that the spooky clown was crying so he opened the door to give the clown hug. But oh no! When the cactus tried to give the clown a hug, he pricked the clown with his thorns, making the clown shriek and run away. The unicorn leaped through the door and ran after the clown. She dried the clown's tears with her unicorn magic and invited the clown to come have spaghetti and meatballs with the gang.
When the clown walked into the studio, the ghost buster howled, thinking that the clown was evil. The kind little pumpkin explained that the clown was just misunderstood and that they should let the clown explain herself. The clown explained that she wanted to invite them to her Halloween party but got nervous and dropped the party tray full of snacks when she knocked on the door. The cactus brought out a bucket of trick-or-treating candy to share and they all munched on the chocolately goodness for the rest of the night. The end.
