We are having so much fun decorating our new space. Everything is coming together and our visions are finally starting to turn into reality! When looking for desks, I was struggling to find big enough desks at a decent price. I decided the best route was to build them myself. My goal was to spend as little as possible while still using real wood. I came up with a plan to build a desk out of a single piece of oak plywood. I bought three pieces of plywood, borrowed a table saw from my high school, and set out to make two desks and one coffee table. Each un-stained desk cost me about $55. Here are the plans that I based our construction after.

Once I had the plans drawn out, I enlisted the help of my father. We went to the store to buy the wood, and we began to build. Once we started, it took about 3 hours to do all three pieces. I took some iPhone photos along the way.

Life Update! It has been an amazing 9 years of photographing portraits of all kinds in RVA! It was an amazing chapter in our lives, and we are ready to move on to the next. We will be shifting our business to solely focus on our commercial and editorial photography work, and unfortunately that means we will no longer be accepting bookings for our other photography services. Thank you for being on this journey with us and trusting us to document so many meaningful moments. You can check out our new work by heading to jadaanddavid.com or following us on instagram @jadaanddavid.

There are still a couple more opportunities to work with us this fall! We have a limited number of Thanksgiving Front Porch Sessions available. We also have fall mini sessions available at some of our favorite locations around RVA for select dates this fall! You can book those sessions directly from this link!
