Winter Styled Shoot with Mallory Kate

One of my favorite parts about being a photographer is being able to test out new techniques and try different things. David and I are constantly trying to push our skillsets and challenge ourselves. We came up with the idea to do a somewhat glamorous styled shoot in the woods. We really wanted to take things to the next level, and we knew we couldn't do it alone. We put together a fabulous team of a model, stylist, and makeup artist. Everyone did a phenomenal job and made the shoot an absolute blast. 

We photographed Mallory last year, and she was such a natural in front of the camera that we asked her to help us with this shoot. She is such a champ. She trekked through the woods with us all afternoon wearing high heels and a cocktail dress in the freezing cold. She never complained once and was so open to any ideas we had. 

Hair and makeup were crucial to this shoot. I knew I wanted Mallory to look completely glammed out, but I wasn't sure what direction to go. My good friend, Caroline, is incredibly gifted when it somes to makeup and took charge. I could not have been happier with the job she did. 

My mom has always been my go-to person when it comes to hair, so I asked her to help us out with the shoot as well. I showed her some photos of what I had in mind for the hair, and she ran with them. She achieved that sophisticated, yet effortless look I was going for. 

Everyone did an amazing job from start to finish. We had the best time working on this shoot, and are so happy with how it all came together. Enjoy!
