Love Like Winter

This past winter David had the idea to do a glammed out shoot on the river in the dead of winter with a woman wearing a bright red dress. Thanks to Rent The Runway, our fabulous model Katie Cominsky, and hair + makeup by Kelsea Dayberry the shoot really came together!

Everything was perfect minus the weather. It was literally freezing out and so windy. I couldn't feel my fingers enough to push the trigger at some points...so I can only imageine how cold Katie was!

I loved how the photos turned out minus one little detail...it was so windy out that Katie's hair was everywhere!!! Each time I sat down to edit these photos I'd get frustrated and have to step away. The perfectionist in me couldn't handle the crazy hair...so these photos sat untouched for months.

Last week David brought them up again, and said he was going to embrace the imperfection and finish the shoot. He went all out with his edits and created some truly beautiful images. I don't know how I let a few silly pieces of hair take away from all of the beauty within these photos. David made them shine, and I could not be happier with the results!
