At Home Christmas Family Photos Baking Cookies and Smores

Sandy reached out to us about taking family photos for her adorable family. At first the plan was to do a traditional outdoor family shoot, but the more she thought about it, she realized she wanted to do something a little different.

They recently moved into a new home, so Sandy came up with the idea of doing an cooking themed shoot with the kids in their new home. I was so excited when she shared this idea with me! Her kids were the perfect age for a shoot like this.

We started off by decorating cookies in their gorgeous kitchen. The kids had the best time making cookies and eating them as they went along - and so did I! Afterwards we headed outdoors for a few more traditional family photos and then plopped down around the fire pit and made smore's! The kids could not get enough of the chocolate and marshmallows and had an absolute blast.

I love how the kids were truly able to be themselves during this shoot. They got to be creative and play all the while taking some super cute photos! This definitely goes down in the books as one of my very favorite family sessions! Who else wants to do a shoot like this?!
