COVID-19 totally came out of the blue. Nothing like this has ever happend in our lifetimes, and it is uncharted territory for everyone. I know it must be heartbreaking to realize that the wedding you have been planning and dreaming of for months, may not go as orginally planned. It's ok to take a moment to be angry and frustrated.

Once you've moved past the frustration, work with your vendors to come up with an action plan! We are all here to help. Just because your wedding may not be able to go as originally planned, that does not mean you can't still have your dream wedding. Get Creative. Talk to your vendors. And come up with an even better plan.

Let's get through this together! Here are a few actions to take to help get you started!

Reach Out To Your Vendors

Start with your venue.

Ask your venue for some open dates that you can reschedule for. Consider looking at Friday dates and holiday weekends. Often, venues have Fridays available throughout the year.

Move on to your most important vendors.

Once you have a few date options from your venue, reach out to your other essential vendors to see if the new dates work for them as well. Try to find a date that can accomodate the majority of your vendors.

Keep in mind that you may need to be flexible. In order to ensure all of your vendors are available, you may need to get married on a day other than a Saturday.

Break Tradition

Plan something small now.

You can still get married on your original wedding date. Have a small intimate ceremony with your family. You can even have a photographer or a videographer there to document it  to share with others. Because at the end of the day, weddings aren't about the decor and dancing. It's about the love you have for each other and the promise you are making.

Throw a reception later.

If you have a small ceremony now, you can plan a big reception for a few months from now or even on your first anniversary.

I hope that helps a few of you out! Please remember everyone in the wedding industry is undergoing a challenging time right now too. While you have one wedding to think about, they have many to reschedule. Everyone is doing the best they can to ensure you can have the wedding you have been dreaming of.
