Richmond Family Portraits on the James River

Meet the Vanfossen family. They also happen to be my cousins, aunt, and uncle. David and I were so excited to get to take their family photos. Their family dog, Carly, even made an appearance in a few photos. They wanted to get some updated family portraits taken because their family has gained two important new members over the past three years. My cousin, Miller, married Emily about three years ago and my cousin, Jessie, married Andrew a year and a half ago.

We wanted to incorporate a lot of nature into their photos, so we headed down to the river. We started by taking a handful of photos with all six of them. Then, we took a series of each photos with each couple and a few sibling pictures. We really tried to capture the fun, easy-going dynamic of their family.
