Let's be honest. Most of us aren't models and feel totally uncomfortable in front of a camera. Having your photo taken can be a little intimidating, especially when you aren't sure exactly what to expect. So let's clear the air, give you a better idea of what your photo shoot will be like, and talk about how to make it a fun, stress free experience.

Here's a few things you should DEFINITELY do before your shoot:

Treat it like an event not a chore.

If it's an engagement shoot, treat it like a date. Grab a drink before the shoot to ease your nerves a little then go grab dinner at that restaurant you've been dying to try afterwards while you are all dressed up!

If it's a family shoot, make it special for the kids. Let them pick out their outfits, tell them they get to go somewhere new, and treat them to ice cream afterwards!

Buy a new outfit.

Feeling happy and confident during your shoot is key. Don't wait until the last minute to scramble and try to find something to wear. Treat yourself to a new outfit that you look and feel great wearing.

Get your hair + makeup done.

Having a professional glam you out before your shoot adds such an extra level of confidence.

Here's a few things you should absolutely NOT worry about.

Will I have to pose myself?

Absolutely NOT! We will guide you through all the poses and give you instructions throughout the entire shoot. A photo shoot with us is pretty much a long game of Simon Says. We will make sure you feel comfortable and give you plenty of feedback throughout the session.

What should I wear?

Solid colors always tend to photograph better than heavy prints. Texture looks great in photos. Avoid neon colors and solid white shirts. If you are having engagement photos taken, make sure your outfits compliment each other. And if you are unsure, you can always send us photos of what you are thinking, and we can give you some feedback.

How do I decide where I want my shoot to take place?

Your shoot can take place anywhere you'd like! We are always happy to travel to the perfect spot if necessary. Start thinking about if there are any places that have a special meaning to you. You can also let us know what type of scenery you are imagining in the background, and we can offer up some suggestions.

What if it rains the day of my shoot?

We want you to love your photos, so if there is bad weather you can always reschedule free of charge. Rainy day photos can look really cool too, so if the rain doesn't bother you we are also happy to get a little wet to create some unique photos.

Will my photos be retouched?

Yes! All of your photos will be lightly retouched. We will remove any blemishes and make sure you have a flawless complexion.
