Fall is without a doubt the most popular time for photos! Everyone wants those crisp temperatures and gorgeous fall leaves. So I put together a list of some of our favorite RVA locations for capturing fabulous fall photos!
So much trees, so much nature! With river views and so many colorful leaves, you can't go wrong with Belle Isle. There is a lot of walking involved, so I would not recommend this for a family shoot with young kids. It is perfect for an engagement session though!
You can't beat this view of the city. With both city views and gorgeous fall leaves this location has it all. It's great for every type of shoot, but keep in mind it does get very crowded on the weekend.
This is always one of our go-to spots when someone says they want lots of trees! This park is so accessible and great for kids. The leaves are also absolutely gorgeous!
Crump Park is a perfect location for family photos. They have an old bar, plenty of grassy space, lots of trees, and goats + sheep the kids will love! During the fall it can get very crowded, so I suggest only heading here for photos on a weekday.
If you're lookig to mix in some fall leaves with urban scenery, you can't beat Brown's Island. There's rive views and so many amazing spots for photos. This location is great for all types of shoots!
With grassy space, plenty of trees, amazing stone, and a lake - Forest Hill Park has it all. The grassy area of the park is perfect for all types of shoots. The walk down to the lake is a little long and very steep, but so pretty.
If you want a more laid back, very Richmnd shoot check out the Fan. We'll walk all around stopping at different quirky little spots for photos. There are several cute little parks tucked into the Fan that make for great photos!
If you're looking for a riverside photo shoot with lots of greenery, Great Shiplock Park is the place. It is very accessible and great for all types of shoots. It can get a little noisy if a train rolls by on the bridge above, but I think that's just another part of what makes this such a fun and unique locations.
Maymont has it all. Japanese gardens, Italian gardens, rolling holls, a waterfall, and animals. They do require you do reserve the session with them and pay a $30 location fee. It is best to photograph here during the work week to beat the crowds. Great for all types of shoots!
