10 Local Small Businesses We are Really Missing Right Now

Everyone has their go-to spots, but these small businesses are basically our lifelines! They are places we eat, shop, and venture to on a regular basis because their products + customer service are top-notch. They are also the first places we are hitting up once this craziness ends!

The Sweetest Stitch

Literally all of my clothes come from here. Niki, the owner, is adorable and so sweet. I always love chatting with her when I stop in. The Sweetest Stitch clothes and accessories are so cute and they have such a wide variety of looks to choose from. And the price points are spot on. Everything is so reasonably priced for such quality items. Every once in a while they have a "red dot sale" where things get as low as 50% off. Make sure you are following @sweeteststitch on instagram to see Niki's try-on videos and shop their latest products!

**They are offering free curbside pick-up + free shipping right now**

Shelter Salon

I never got compliments on my hair until I started coming here. Now, on a daily basis at least 1 person tells me how good my hair looks. And that is all thanks to Becky, the owner of Shelter Salon. She is so sweet and fun to talk to. I love coming to get my hair done.

David gets his haircut by Becky as well, and even he loves it! She really is amazing. There are also some incredibly talented other stylists there are well.

As soon as this is over, a cut + color at Shelter Salon is first on my list!

Pupatella

Pupatella is the only place I will order pizza from. It is THAT good. We typically order from here at least once a week. The margarita pizza, pepperoni pizza, meatball pizza, and their arancini are our favorites! They have a location in the city as well as the west end. You can also get it for takeout via UberEats!

Union Market

We order lunch from Union Market all the time when we are working at the studio. Their menu changes seasonally and they offer a specialty soup + sandwich daily. Their sides are delicious. And the market is stocked with amazing local items, wines, gifts, and snacks.

Dog Services

Dog Services are the people we trust our fur babies to when we need to go out of town or the dogs need a play date to get some energy out. They take such great care of them and always give us a report on how they did when we pick them up. They also offer baths before pick-up which is a huge place because I hate having to give them baths - it's so much work!

Mr. Mow it All

Mr. Mow It All has been our grass cutting lifesaver. We also have a huge front + backyard that took us forever to cut. During the spring, summer, and fall our schedule gets insanely busy. Our grass would get out of control because we just never had the time to cut it. Thank goodness Jay Rollins aka Mr. Mow It All came into our lives. He cuts our lawn, mulches, trims the trees, and removes our leaves. He does a great job and is always reliable!

Kuba Kuba Dos

Kuba Kuba Dos is right up the street from our house, and we go here all the time. It's our "chill" spot. If we had a hard day or are too lazy to make dinner, this is our go-to. The food is awesome. It has a very relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. And they have an awesome happy hour and nightly specials.

Osaka + Red Salt

I'm grouping these two together because they are owned by the same people. When we want sushi, these are our spots. We would never even consider going anywhere else. The service is amazing, the atmosphere is wonderful, and the food is delicious.

We usually order take out from Osaka. And if we want a nice dinner, we got to Red Salt.

68 Home

You never know what you are going to find at 68 Home. I always love stopping in here. They have an assortment of vintage homegoods and even a few clothing items. Everything in the store is eclectic and totally unique. They also sell handmade goods from local artisans. Make sure to follow 68 Home on instagram because you can shop directly from their stories!

Gelati Celesti Ice Cream

Gelati Celesti ice cream is basically the greatest thing ever. It's so creamy and they have the best flavors. I really don't get ice cream anywhere else. My favorite is their ice cream sandwiches. They are made on homemade chocolate chip cookies and then you can fill them with whatever ice cream flavor you want. So so good!
