Let me just start by saying Rebecca + John's wedding was spectacular. It felt like a fairy tale. I think it would be hard to find a much more beautiful setting for such a special day than The Omni Homestead Resort in the mountains of Virginia. It was the end of July. but the weather was so perfect that it felt like early fall.
David and I have both known Rebecca since high school. I'm a few years younger than the two of them, but Rebecca and David were in the same grade and have been best friends for over 10 + years. Rebecca is one of those people that everyone seems to know because she is so full of life. I think she has more friends than anyone can count because she has a way of making everyone feel so special.
Rebecca + John first started dating right before David and I got married two years ago. I remember the first night we met John, Rebecca whispered in my ear that she was going to marry him. That's when I first knew that this was something special. When you find the right person, love happens fast and takes you by surprise but at the same time it gives you such a sense of certainty.
David and I were so incredibly honored when they asked us to photograph their wedding day. This was a really special one for us because not only is Rebecca one of David's best friends, but most of his other friends were either in the wedding or attended.
Rebecca has been fashion obsessed for as long as I've known her. She is one of the co-founders of the fashion blog The Crystal Press, so I knew that her wedding was going to be exceptionally well-styled.
Rebecca wore her grandmother's gown. Not only did her grandmother get married in this gorgeous lace gown, but her mother did as well. They had a close family friend restore the gown and do all of the alterations. It was so intricate and elegant. Rebecca looked absolutely stunning in it and the fact that it is such a treasured family heirloom made it that much more special.
The bridesmaids all looked incredible in their mismatched gowns in shades of ivory and gold while the groomsmen looked very handsome in their tuxes. Like I said earlier, Rebecca has a lot of very close friends. She wanted to make sure her best guys were involved in the day as well so she designated them her "6 bride's men."
The ceremony was officiated by a good friend of Rebecca's, James from Sons of Bill. There was also another celebrity in attendance. Will Patton is John's godfather and he recited a beautiful peice of literature during the ceremony. It was such a beautiful ceremony the ended with Rebecca's sister, Caroline, performing a song.
The reception was an absolute blast with a sweet speech from Rebecca's dad to kick it off. Everyone had such an amazing time. Even David and I got on the dance floor for a few songs.
Rebecca + John's wedding day was everything you could hope. They were so happy the entire day, and we wish them all the best! Congratulations to Mr. + Mrs. Piersol!
A big thanks to all of the vendors who contributed to Rebecca + John's wedding day!
